Spring cleaning time for our cars..
Most of us prepared our cars for the winter months and it is now time to get ready for the warmer weather. (Hey no harm in being optimistic!!)
Start by washing and removing any of the road salt, afterwards wax to help protect the paint from the suns UV rays. The winter weather can be hard on our wiper blades too not to mention the ice you’ve been scraping off with that old cd case! So it’s a good time to check them over as you won’t want to be caught out in the rain without a good set to count on.
You may think Anti-freeze (also known as coolant) levels are more important in the colder months but in fact it’s just as if not more important that the levels are kept topped up as the weather warms to prevent over heating engines and vehicle breakdowns. The warmer weather can also affect tyre pressures, it’s said that a 10 degree increase can drop pressure by 1-2 psi. Thus in turn can create low pressures which means you will get fewer miles to the gallon and your tyres will wear out faster. The spring is the best time to check all fluid levels from oil to coolant, transmission fluids and brake fluids after the winter weather.
